Garrett‘s path to the law began in business. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama’s Culverhouse College of Business with majors in Finance and Economics, earning that degree at the same time as a Master of Science in Finance with a focus in Real Estate from the Manderson Graduate School of Business through the university’s Accelerated Masters Program. 

Garrett carried that business mindset into The University of Alabama School of Law, where he earned his Juris Doctor along with a Master of Laws in Taxation, giving him a rare depth of knowledge in the tax and financial issues that sit behind so many business, real estate, and estate matters. While in law school, he served as a judicial intern to the Honorable L. Scott Coogler, then the Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama.

Garrett joined Cameron, Goolsby, and Gross in 2026, bringing that combination of legal training and financial fluency to the firm’s diverse array of civil practice areas.
