Estate & Probate

More often than not, when there is a death in the family, it is hard enough to navigate a funeral, let alone the legal process of dispersing assets or selling a home.

What to Expect

Probate court tends to have a negative connotation, so let us chat with you and explain the process and see what path you and your family will need to take.

The first thing we will determine is whether or not there was a Last Will and Testament, and if so, what it stated. If you’re coming in for an initial consultation and you know there’s a Will, feel free to bring that in with you so we can determine what it directs.

FAQs

While going pro se (acting without a lawyer) isn’t something we typically advise, there may be situations in which you can easily handle a small matter without counsel. However, to be sure if that’s best for you, we welcome you to come and speak with an attorney first.

Depending on the type of case, we may quote you a flat fee, an hourly rate, or contingency fee.

While some cases are resolved within a month or two, more complex cases could take several months up to (in extreme cases) over a year. Because other parties and other attorneys may be involved, there’s no one answer for every case and each situation is unique.
